Training Course on Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensor for Soil Moisture Assessment

A member of our project team, Dr. Milan Djordjević, participated in a Training Course on Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensor for Soil Moisture Assessment held from 27 to 31 May 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia. The training was organized within a regional project “Improving efficiency in water and soil management” (RER5028), 2022-2027, funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency in which the Predict-Er team participates. The course attracted 24 participants from 20 countries. During the training, theoretical and practical modules were covered, focusing on the theory and methodology of the Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensor (CRNS) for assessing soil moisture content over relatively large areas. The training included a comprehensive demonstration of the setup, calibration, and application of CRNS and advanced applications of CRNS in (agro)ecosystem research. dr. Milan Djordjevic delivered a presentation on the Predict-Er project, highlighting the project’s objectives, methodologies, and potential applications of CRNS in our ongoing research.
