Predict-Er workshop with students

On May 29, 2024, the Predict-Er project held a successful workshop at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Niš, which aimed to educate and inform students about the latest research achievements of this project.

Professor Ranko Dragović opened the workshop, highlighting the importance of combining scientific research with practical applications. He used the Predict-Er project as an example of this integration, setting a positive tone for the day’s events.

After the opening session, the workshop moved into a series of lectures that provided a comprehensive overview of the Predict-Er project. Key topics included:

Project overview and objectives: The introductory session explained the purpose of the Predict-Er project, its objectives, and expected results. The project aims to advance our understanding of erosion processes through cutting-edge research and technology.

Field Research Activities: This lecture covered the various activities involved in field research. Students learned about the methodologies used in field studies, the importance of accurate data collection, and how these data contribute to erosion modeling and prediction. The session included a lecture on Fallout Radionuclide (FRNs) methods and sediment Fingerprinting.

Remote Sensing and Equipment: The final lecture focused on the equipment used in the Predict-Er project. This included an overview of the latest tools and technologies used in remote sensing, such as drones, multispectral cameras, LiDAR systems, and terrestrial photogrammetry devices.

The workshop was well received by the students, who appreciated the opportunity to learn and gain practical insight into the tools and methods used in this project research.
